Gold Peacock Nath with Clear Stones
Strip the colour out of a peacock nath and what is left is the shape, which turns out to be the more useful version. This one sets the whole bird in clear cubic zirconia, with a marquise at the base and a single pearl-look bead hanging below.
Colourless has a practical advantage that gets overlooked. A red or a green stone commits the piece to matching, so it comes out for the outfits it suits and stays in the box for the rest. An all-clear nath goes with every colour a lehenga or a saree can be.
The gold-plated setting is what carries the peacock shape, curving along the hoop with the tail picked out in small stones. The bead below is pearl-look rather than the sea-grown kind, and it hangs on a short link so it moves independently of the hoop.
Screw fastening, so a pierced nose is needed. Screws hold through a long function better than a press fit, which is why most bridal naths use them.
At this price the value sits in the shape and the setting work rather than the materials. That is a fair place for it to sit, on a piece worn a few times a year and photographed heavily each time.
