Green Solitaire Thread Ring

Olive is an unusual choice for a small stone and that is the reason to pick it. Most green fashion stones go for emerald brightness. This one is duller and warmer, closer to the green of an old bottle held up to a window, and it looks better on brown skin for exactly that reason.

The setting is the same hair-fine gold-plated thread ring as the rest of this group, with a single bezel-set cubic zirconia sunk flush into the band. Nothing else, and nothing to catch. Keep perfume off it and the gold stays warm instead of thinning at the shoulders of the band.

Olive green pairs with mustard and rust, and generally with the warm side of the Indian wardrobe rather than the cool side. It also works with plain khaki cotton on an ordinary day, which is a strange thing to be able to say about a ring with a stone in it.

Because it is the least obvious of the four, it is the one most likely to be worn alone. A single fine ring on an otherwise bare hand reads as a decision rather than an accessory.
