Pink Solitaire Thread Ring

Some rings you notice all day. This is not one of them. The band is hair-fine gold-plated steel and the pink cubic zirconia set into it is small enough that the ring registers as a glint rather than an object, which is exactly what a lot of people want on a working day.

Soft pink is the gentlest stone in this group of four. It reads almost neutral in daylight and only shows its colour up close, so it goes to an office without argument and to dinner without changing.

The stone is bezel-set, sunk into a collar of metal so nothing stands proud of the band. That flatness is practical. It slides under a sleeve and it will not catch on a dupatta.

It also layers under a watch without adding bulk at the wrist end of the hand. Fine rings and a watch strap sit well together because neither is asking for attention.

Plated gold over stainless steel is a good combination on something worn daily. The steel keeps the shape, and the plating only needs to stay clear of soap and sanitiser to hold its warmth.
