Watch Dial Ring

It does not tell the time. The hands are painted in place and they stay where they are, which is the first thing to say about a watch ring before anything else about it.

What it is instead is a small piece of stainless steel jewellery shaped like a wristwatch and shrunk to fit a finger. The dial is black with a fine bezel, and the band is built from bracelet links so it looks like a watch strap wrapping the finger rather than a plain ring pretending to be one. Up close the link detail is what sells it.

Stainless steel means it holds its colour without plating to wear off, which is unusual at this price and worth knowing. It will not go green on the finger and it does not mind water. It also sits flat enough to go under a sleeve without catching.

The appeal is the joke and the craft at once. People notice it, then look closer at the links. Wear it on the index finger where it reads clearest, and keep the rest of that hand plain so it does not have to compete.
